Yesterday I had my first session with Sarah, who is eight months pregnant. We will be meeting up again in February to photograph her new little one, Dylan. These are some of my favorites from the afternoon:

Last week I spent the afternoon at By the Bunch, a boutique flower shop in SE Portland. Owner and designer Rachel Galloway runs the tiny shop herself and stocks a variety of beautiful, hard to find flowers and greenery for all occasions.

The new photography will be used in the creation of a website and materials for the shop this spring, check back for more on that! In the meantime, a few of my favorites:

I first noticed Rachel’s work this summer when it started popping up at weddings I was shooting. It really stands out as being unique and beautiful.

The new Bella Sisters website is up and running! In addition to doing a fashion shoot for Bella Sisters this summer, I’ve also been busy at work on a new logo and website for the company. Bella Sisters has been growing quickly and was in need of a more professional image and a central place where vendors and customers could easily find information about their clothing and upcoming events. While wanting to improve their professional image, it was also important to stay true to the original Bella Sisters aesthetic of handmade, creative and funky fashions. We’ve come up with a design that is hopefully a good balance of both - simple and easy to use, but also funky and fun to look at.

Sometimes I wonder how I end up with such great wedding clients. It’s a little bit of luck on my part really, but only awesome people seem to want me to shoot their wedding. Trevor and Jamie are no exception. These two cool kids came up from Bend to spend an afternoon in Portland shooting their engagement photos this week. Despite chilly weather and a little rain, we were able to brave the streets of downtown Portland and get some great shots. These two were troopers and let me drag them all over the place. Thanks you guys, can’t wait to see you in June!

This week I had my last photoshoot with little Ella, who just celebrated her 1st birthday. Over the past year, I’ve worked with Ella three times - at 6, 9, and 12 months - and I’m amazed by how much she has grown and changed since her first session last May. It seems that things change so quickly in those first months of a baby’s life and photographs can be such a great way to capture and relive moments that might otherwise be very fleeting.

Inspired by the time I’ve spent with Ella, I am introducing a special package in 2008 for new parents that will include several sessions spread out over baby’s first year, with images bound into a beautiful keepsake album. More info on this will be coming soon!
