Jonathan & Kati, Part Two!

I’ve been excited to shoot Jonathan and Kati’s wedding ever since getting to know them during their engagement session last month, and it didn’t disappoint! They were married at Mississippi Studios, a small, intimate music venue in NE Portland, where Jonathan’s band Mirafores recorded their first CD. True to form, the celebration was laid back, fun and musical (Kati walked down the aisle to the Beatles). A few of my favorites:

Plate and Pitchfork

Plate & Pitchfork is a volunteer-driven nonprofit working to support local family farms in Oregon. Every summer they hold a series of dinners designed to educate the public about the connection between the farm and the food on their plate. At these events a combination of local farmers, chefs and winemakers come together to create a special menu highlighting seasonal produce, meats and wines from around the region.

I recently photographed one of their dinners out at Baggenstos Farm in Sherwood, OR and it was a great event. The day started off with a wine tasting and tour of the farm before moving to a candlelit dinner on white tablecloths in a field surrounded by berry vines. The night ended with a full moon rising in the sky and many happy and content diners.

A portion of the proceeds from every Plate and Pitchwork dinner goes to benefit organizations that support small farms, environmental literacy and food security. If you would like to learn more about their work or inquire about purchasing tickets for next year (2007 is currently sold out), you can visit their website here.

Meghan contacted me recently to do some creative business portraits for her. These are a couple of my favorites from our session:

Mark & Rachel

This week I photographed Mark and Rachel’s wedding at East Fork Country Estate in Damascus, Oregon. The landscaped grounds were the perfect setting for their garden wedding, and in true Oregon fashion we started out the day with hot sunny weather and ended it with raindrops and a show of thunder and lightning. The event was beautifully put together, and everywhere you looked were handmade touches from the bride and groom…from Rachel’s handmade silk gown to the guest favors of home brewed beer and cookies to the hand applied pearls on the wedding cake.

As you can see from the photographs, Mark and Rachel are so happy together and it was a joy to hang out with them for the day. Here are some of my favorites:
